# How We Started

### 2017

Modern Solutions was created in **October 2017** with the idea of making a GTA V CAD/MDT System that communities would grow to love! **ModernCAD: OnyxCAD Edition** was the first CAD System created by Modern Solutions and it formed the foundations for CAD Systems in the GTA V Roleplay community for many years to come!

### 2018

After Modern Solutions continued their time with ModernCAD: Onyx Edition an idea was brought up that would change CAD Systems forever. The idea was to allow users to sign up all to one site and have access to join communities all via one website that allowed multiple different styles for Police, Fire, Civilian and Dispatch.<br>

In June 2018, this was the first of it's kind and it's name was **RocketCAD**!

### 2019

RocketCAD had a big year, it hit 70,000 users! The RocketCAD, Project "Mojave", became an even bigger success than anyone at Modern Solutions could have thought, but with this attention, it kept getting bigger and bigger.&#x20;

### 2020

With Covid-19 putting many people in lockdown many people turned to roleplay as a way out from all it. This allowed RocketCAD to reach 100,000 users!\
\
2020 was also a big year for RocketCAD as it brought the release of RocketCAD V6 which brought many features like New CAD + MDT Styles, FiveM Integration, Metrics and Data, API and much more!&#x20;

### 2022

RocketCAD hit 250,000+ users on the platform!

### Present

RocketCAD is still developed and users still continue using the platform and have no plans of stopping!&#x20;

# Security & Privacy

Security and Privacy are built in to the core of RocketCAD. RocketCAD is entrusted with the data of over 37,000 communities and over 280,000 users, administrators and community owners. This is a role that we do not take lightly and we work hard everyday to ensure that your information, data and communities are secure from external and internal attacks.

## User Privacy & Security

* Users can opt-in to 2 Factor Authentication, which allows users to secure their account with a 6-digit code that re-generates every 30 seconds to prevent unwanted logins.
* Users are encouraged to create strong passwords, and RocketCAD will encourage you to make your password stronger when signing up.
* In the event a user forgets their password, or believes their account has been compromised - you can [reach out to our team](https://therocketcad.com/support) or click "Forgot Password" to have an email sent to your account email address. In the event you're still in your account, you can log out all other sessions and immediately change your password.
* Users are strongly encouraged to Verify your Steam Hex to ensure your Hex is locked to your account.
* Users are strongly encouraged to Verify your Discord ID to ensure your ID is locked to your account.
* User emails, steam hexes and phone numbers are not visible to any users, administrators or owners of RocketCAD - only official Modern Solutions/RocketCAD Staff Team members.
* No payment information is stored within RocketCAD, you are re-directed to PayPal and Stripe, our payment processing partners, to checkout.
* Users are encouraged to use a nickname or alias on the CAD, to prevent other community members, administrators and owners from having your legal first and/or last name.
* Users are encouraged to leave old communities, or those they are no longer apart of, this will prevent your name and identifying information from being available to Administrators and Owners.
* Users are encouraged to use a trusted and reliable email source, such as Gmail to flag spam emails early.
* Users may select the identifiable information a community receives to verify their identity.

## Community Privacy & Security

* Communities are able to re-generate all Community specific codes and confidential information, such as Server IDs. Do not share your Community IDs, Server IDs or Server IP with anyone except trusted sources.
* We strongly discourage the usage of "Automatically Approve Civilians" as this allows anyone into your community without being verified by a member of your Administration Team.
* In the event of a security threat, we recommend using the Owner Panel Logs to find the name and information of any potential users responsible, and immediately [report them to our team](https://therocketcad.com/support).
* All Community Owners should have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, as mentioned above.

## RocketCAD API Security

The RocketCAD 2.0 version API has been re-designed from the ground up with security & functionality in mind. Here are some of the steps we're taking to secure your integrations.

* **User Modification Notifications** - With a user's consent, each time their account is modified through the API, they are notified via their portal and can opt for email notifications.
* **Owner Notifications** - At the discretion of an individual Community Owner, each time their community or server is modification through the API, they are notified via their portal and can opt for email notifications. Each modification is thoroughly logged and Community Owners given the option to rollback any of the changes that were made.
* **Rolling API Keys** - At any time, a Community Owner can opt to roll their API Key with immediate effect.
* **Multiple Methods of Authentication** - In addition to API Keys to permit the action to occur, a developer must also pass the unique communityID and serverID, all three of which can be rolled at any time at the request of an Owner, with immediate effect.
* **Supervisor Disabling** - At the discretion of a Community Owner from the [Owner Panel > Permissions](https://therocketcad.com/amc) menu, Supervisors of any department type (LEO, Fire, Dispatch or Civilian) can instantly disable ‘Patrol related API requests’ if abuse occurs. This prevents any inbound API requests from taking place (and potentially distrupting a patrol) while notifying all owners of the community.
* **Shoulder Surfers, Attackers with Physical Access to your computer or Enhanced Privileges** - API Keys are a randomly generated 24 character string of a combination of numbers and both lowercase and uppercase letters, making it exceptionally difficult for a shoulder surfer to gain access to a key when developing. API Keys are on average roughly 200% stronger than the average user password, making it more-than-likely secure in the event someone with enhanced access gains access to a developer’s computer for a short duration of time.

# Creating a Call

To create a call, the process has gotten even easier. Follow the steps below to get your call setup and dispatched

1. Fill in the basic call details including **type, nature, and location** and then select the **create** button

![](/files/-MAXLBq7eDMsME0x1RNL)

&#x20;2\. After clicking the create button, you will be prompted with a screen to edit all aspects of the call. This allows for the 911 call taker to easily get a call created and handed over to a dispatcher. Or, if you have a single dispatcher, this process allows for a seamless call creation process

![](/files/-MAhuvF-PiRiEAUMhEvs)

3\. In the screenshot above you can edit all aspects of the call designated with the **yellow boxes** as well as assign active units to the call by selecting the **Unit Assignment** section

![](/files/-MAhvCmVE0f4dSgj7kEX)

4\. Within the unit assignment you will be prompted with recommended fire and LEO units based on their **last call activity, district with relation to call location,** and **unassigned units**

5\. You can always edit a call after the fact by selecting it with a single **left click** from the **Active Assignments** box on the CAD

# Editing a Call

After you've created your call and assigned the initial units, you can always return to that call from the main CAD area under the **Active Assignments** box. Within the popup you can edit all aspects of the call, assign additional units, and add any possible flags that may be associated with a subject on the call.

![](/files/-MAhxzFAsY7RHSxp8aBM)

* To edit call details, simply click on the pencil icon next to each field, enter your changes, and click away!
* Need to add flags? Click the '+' and select any that you need!
* The call editing screen will always show you the latest call details, the call chat, and every detail that you would need to make the dispatching experience easier every step of the way

# Using the Command Line

RocketCAD now features a brand new Command Line system to the Dispatching CAD. This Command Line helps you to expedite your dispatch and execute numerous actions without the need to touch your mouse.&#x20;

To use the [Command Line](/rocketcad-useful-info/command-line-commands#command-line-commands), begin by typing the "CMD" or the Command - you will always have one of two options, type the letter (ie; A) or type the short name (ie; ATTACH) and this will inform the Command Line that you are attempting to execute the 'Attach' command. The [Syntax Assistant](/rocketcad-useful-info/command-line-commands#syntax-assistant-notes) will then automatically prompt you through the next steps. You can quickly flow through these options by using the TAB (for moving to the right) and SHIFT+TAB (for moving back to the left) key(s) to navigate through the boxes. Once you have reached the final option in a command, simply press the ENTER key and the command line will execute.

![](/files/-MAi8LwTpUcoPu3lzFHv)

We have included a helpful guide of Command Lines commands to get you started and we'll continue to add more as suggestions come in!

# Managing Units

With version 6.0 of RocketCAD managing units is even easier! There are a couple of quick mouse and button shortcuts that allow you to easily manage single and multiple units at once on the unit board

{% hint style="info" %}
If you have the RocketCAD integration files in your FiveM server, all unit locations will be automatically updated every 60 seconds into the location tab of the units board
{% endhint %}

![](/files/-MAi0y8kdaASdyl_K-hC)

### Changing a Unit's Status

To change a unit's status, follow the simple steps below

1. Select the status from the colored buttons that you wish to alter
2. Double click on the unit that you want to change
3. Done! The unit's stauts has now been changed!

### Editing Unit information

To edit a unit's information, all you need to do is **right click** on that unit to open the edit popup

![](/files/-MAi1xWASYH4NnwVCp_B)

Within this popup, make your necessary edits and select **Save Unit** to close the popup and return to the CAD homepage

### Marking a Unit Off Duty

To mark a unit off duty, we've created a mouse shortcut to allow for easy maneuverability. To mark a unit off duty, all you need to do is do a **long left click** on your mouse and you will be prompted to confirm the removal of the unit from your active board

![](/files/-MAi2VF8FQDQGUqlVaBl)

# Creating and Managing BOLOs

### Creating a BOLO

Creating and managing BOLOs from the dispatcher's point of view is very similar to that of creating and editing a call. From the BOLO quick entry section of the dashboard, enter the details and click **Create**

![](/files/-MAi35dXzsz9ckv0bd7-)

### Editing a BOLO

After you create your BOLO, it will show in the active BOLOs board on the main CAD homepage. To edit the BOL&#x4F;**, right click** on the BOLO entry to edit it's details. Here you can edit all details and then save the BOLO to update

![](/files/-MAi3WqR5akJRax2lwsS)

### Clearing a BOLO

Once your LEO units have apprehended the subject or vehicle, you are now ready to clear the BOLO. Simply perform a **long left click** on the BOLO to bring up the removal confirmation popup. Click **confirm**, and your BOLO is gone!

![](/files/-MAi54uvC7LasqDNkXpn)

# Information Searches

Searching for information is easier than ever with the new CAD system. Select what you want to search, enter it in the search box, and select it from the dropdown!

The initial information search will present you with a single line message notifying you if there is anything to be aware of regarding the person, vehicle, or firearm.

{% hint style="info" %}
The system will notify you if a person is **wanted** or **deceased**, if a vehicle has **no insurance, no active registration, stolen,** or if the **registered owner is wanted.** Firearms will flag if they are marked as **stolen** or if the **registered owner is wanted**

3. When you select **Download Integration Resources** your download will automatically begin
4. Simply install the resource like any other FiveM resource and add the **start rc-integration** to your server.cfg

### Installing the Whitelist Resource

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please remove any other whitelisting resources if you intend to use the RocketCAD Whitelist. Otherwise, simply delete or ignore the "rc-whitelist" folder completely
{% endhint %}

1. The "rc-whitelist" resource is included in your primary server resource.
2. Move the "rc-whitelist" folder out into your /resources/ directory
3. Add start **rc-whitelist** to your server.cfg file
4. Head into the "config.lua" file inside of the resource
5. Enter in your Community ID into the field provided, this is located on the "integrate" page of RocketCAD
6. You are done! The CAD will now check users to see if they are apart of your community before letting them into your server.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Renaming either resource anything other than "rc-integration" or "rc-whitelist" will cause it to fail, do not modify the name of the resource!
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Read through the Github ReadMe for most up-to date installation instructions! <https://github.com/TGilroyed/rocketcad-integration>
{% endhint %}

### Configuring the Integration Resource

Configuring the RocketCAD source is incredibly simple. Use the resources below to find quickly understand each option to get your server back up and running!

{% hint style="danger" %}
Temporarily, you must edit the "sv\_integration.lua" file, to add your API Key.
{% endhint %}

### **config.lua Configuration**

Name: The "name" setting is the name of your Communications Department. For example, "San Andreas Communications" or "Acme City Dispatch"

Community Code: The "code" setting is your Unique ID of your community, this can ONLY be found under the Billing Center. Head to <https://therocketcad.com/amc> > Billing Center > Community ID and paste this in here.

Server ID: The "serverid" setting is the ID for the specific server you're placing the resource in. This is found under the [Owner Panel > API Access](https://therocketcad.com/amc) tab.

**Alert**

Alert 1: The "alert1" setting is the title of your Emergency Traffic Only alert, this should match the alert title you have configured in your CAD already. For example, "Signal 100"

Alert 2: The "alert2" setting is the title of your Stop Transmitting alert, this should match the alert title you have configured in your CAD already. For example, "10-3"

### **sv-integration.lua Configuration**

API Key: The "api key" config option is the API Key you wish to use with this server. This can be generated from the [Owner Panel > API Access](https://therocketcad.com/amc) tab.

### RocketCAD Setup

After the resource is all setup there are a few steps you need to do in order for it to function properly.

1. Go to the [AMC](https://therocketcad.com/amc), Select your Community and go to Community Manager.
2. Click CAD Settings & Data and either edit your current server or create a new one (If you create a new one you will have to redo the serverID step).
3. Ensure you add your FiveM IP and Port for your server. (Ex. 192.168.52.51:30120).
4. Once done scroll down to the designs are ensure you're using the V6 designs. You can determine which one you're currently using because if the button says "USE NEW CAD + MDT STYLES" then they are not and you should click the button.\
   If it says "REVERT STYLES BACK!" then ignore this step.
5. Go the the "NEW CAD + MDT" tab and enable GTA:V Locations and Location Tracking.

### Integration Features

**1) Call Notification & Directions**

The Call Notification feature will notify you in-game when you are assigned to a new call and will provide you with the title and postal location. Accompanied by the CAD that will play an audible sound, you will now when you get a call and where you are supposed to go without even opening up the CAD! If the location is apart of our large database of locations around the map, you will be auto-waypointed to the location to begin responding to.

**2) Automatic Location Updating**

The Automatic Location Update feature allows for Dispatch and Units to be aware of all player's locations at all times. Every 60 seconds, a player's location will be updated in CAD giving Dispatch an almost instant picture of where every unit is. LEO and Fire units can also view each other's locations under the new "Units" tab of the MDT.

**3) Plate Searches**

The Plate Searching feature allows you to quickly type the plate of any vehicle in chat (Using the /plate command) and will return the results instantly as a sleek notification above your game map. This removes the need to tab into your Steam Browser or open the MDT externally.

**4) Emergency and Stop Transmitting Tone Alerts**

If you have opted to mute your MDT whilst patrolling, you will not hear the audible effects of Emergency Broadcast Only and Stop Transmitting alerts being placed into effect. You now will receive alerts in-game notifying you of these alerts, whether you have the MDT muted or not.

**5) Panic Button Alert + Waypointing**

If any unit in-game activates their Panic Button using the /panic command in-chat, all available units will be automatically way-pointed to their location and alerted in-game. This accompanies the visual and audio effects of the MDT itself.

**6) 911 Alerts**

Similar to the previous integration, the /911 command allows for Civilians to alert dispatchers of their Name and Current Location so they may quickly generate an assignment and begin sending units.

**7) Whitelisting**

In need of a non-sql or json whitelisting script? We've got you covered, RocketCAD now includes a whitelisting script that simply checks if the user is apart of your RocketCAD Community and either grants or denies access instantly. No need for resource or server restarts, as the API updates instantly!

# Upgrading your Integration

Upgrading is easy! All you need to do is replace the following files for the **rc-integration** resource.

* cl\_integration.lua
* sv\_integration.lua

For the **rc-whitelist** resource you need to replace the following files.

* server.lua

{% hint style="info" %}

### Note

Sometimes you may need to replace all files. We will list if this is required on the changelog if there is an update that requires you to do this.
{% endhint %}

# Troubleshooting Integration Issues

Our pre-made integration files require quite a few areas to be configured properly for each function to work as intended. Please follow all of these steps to make sure the integration works as intended.

## Configuring Servers

1. Head to <https://therocketcad.com/amc>
2. Select Your Community
3. Select "Launch Community Manager"
4. Once in the Owner Panel, click "CAD Settings & Data"
5. Make sure that each of the servers you have entered have their IP:PORT inserted properly
   1. It should look something like: "123.456.7.8:30120"
      1. Please make sure to enter in the actual IP and PORT of your server, this should be unique for each server in your RocketCAD

## Entering Steam Hex(es)

1. It's important that each of your members have their Steam Hexes entered into the CAD
2. Send each of your members this guide; [How to Enter Steam Hex](/how-tos/how-to-find-steam-hex)
3. Make sure they have "steam:" in front of the hex, this is very important!

## Configuring the Resource

1. Assuming you have already downloaded and installed the resource using the [Integration Resources](/getting-started-with-v6/integration-resources) tab or the Readme file, open up your "config.lua" file
2. Make sure your Community ID is set
   1. Head to <https://therocketcad.com/integrate>
   2. Select Your Community
   3. Your Community ID will appear towards the bottom of the window for you to access
3. Make sure your Server ID is set
   1. Head to <https://therocketcad.com/amc>
   2. Select Your Community
   3. Select "Launch Community Manager"
   4. Head to the "API Access" tab
   5. Copy the Server ID for the server you are currently configuring
      1. Make sure that each of your servers has a DIFFERENT Server ID!

## Verify Config Options

1. Be default, each of these options are enabled, to be safe let's make sure they are still enabled
2. Head to <https://therocketcad.com/amc>
3. Select Your Community
4. Select "Launch Community Manager"
5. Head to the "NEW CAD + MDT" tab
6. Make sure that "Track Player Locations" is enabled

## General Troubleshooting

-Make sure that the resource is not renamed, it must be named either "rc-integration" or "rc-whitelist" for them to work properly.

-Make sure your Steam Hex on CAD does not contain any Capital Letters.

-Make sure you have the latest version, to see if you have the latest version, type "restart rc-integration" into your console. The script will then print if you have the latest version or not.

-Make sure you restart your server, if you install the resource while your server is running this may lead to issues, we recommend restarting the entire server to be safe.

-Do not modify the "sv\_integration.lua" or "cl\_integration" files, only the "config.lua"

# Portal

# How to Login to Patrol

You can login to patrol by selecting the ["Begin Patrol" option on the Portal.](/walkthrough/users/portal#begin-patrol) Once in the menu, you have two options. You can begin a patrol based on a pre-saved Patrol Configuration, or walk through each step to configure your patrol.

### Beginning Patrol from Patrol Configuration

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: Patrol Configurations save everything! There should be no need to select any options after selecting one. However, you can make changes to your current patrol after loaded.
{% endhint %}

1. Determine which Patrol Configuration you wish to use. The nicknames you have configured can help you select the proper one for the exact patrol you wish to load.
2. You'll automatically be scrolled to the very bottom. You can now click "Begin Patrol"
   1. If you wish to make changes (ie; changing your District), simply scroll up and select the new option. Once you have configured each option how you wish, click "Begin Patrol"

Follow the steps below if you wish to create a new patrol configuration. If you need to delete your Patrol Configurations, you can do so from the [Portal > Preferences](/walkthrough/users/portal#preferences) tab.

### Beginning Patrol by Selecting Each Option

In the event you do not yet have a Patrol Configuration, or none of your options suit your current patrolling needs, you can walk through each option manually.

### Department Selection

{% hint style="danger" %}
Note: This is a **required step!** You will not be able to Begin Patrol without selecting a department.
{% endhint %}

Select the department you wish to login to patrol as. If you do not see any options here, please contact your Community Admins for approval.

### Server Selection

{% hint style="danger" %}
Note: This is a **required step!** You will not be able to Begin Patrol without selecting a department.
{% endhint %}

The server selection is where you will select the server you're playing on. Most communities only have one main server, but if you are training or patrolling on a secondary server, be sure to select that from here.

Servers do not require approval, meaning if an option is not available, it does not exist.

### Identifier Selection

{% hint style="danger" %}
Note: This is a **required step!** You will not be able to Begin Patrol without selecting a department.
{% endhint %}

In this field, you will type in the identifier you wish to use. This can include dashes, numbers and letter such as "1A-100" or "A100". We recommend putting the identifier you will be using on your patrol, as this is what active Dispatchers will see.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Adding () or \[] around your identifier, such as \[100] or (100) will confuse dispatchers. We automatically add \[] around your identifier for you! Simply enter in the number.
{% endhint %}

### Select Subdivision

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: This is an **optional step!** You can Begin Patrol without a subdivision selected.
{% endhint %}

This menu is where you can select your current subdivision for patrol. This will be visible to Dispatchers & Supervisors. Subdivisions, like departments, require individual approval. You must be approved for subdivisions for them to appear here. To get approval, contact your Community Administration.

### Select District

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: This is an **optional step!** You can Begin Patrol without a district selected.
{% endhint %}

This menu is where you can select your current district for patrol. This will be visible to Dispatchers & Supervisors. District, like server, do NOT require individual approval. If an option is not available here, it does not exist and must be created by an Owner.

### Saving Patrol Configuration

Once you have configured all of the options, you can now save your Patrol Configuration. You can then load this configuration in the future. To save, click "Save Patrol Configuration" and enter in a nickname that will help you remember it.

You're now successfully on patrol! Enjoy!

# How to Enable 2-Factor Authentication

## Why Enable 2-Factor Authentication

2-Factor Authentication heightens account security as it generates a 6-digit code on a mobile device, that continuously regenerates every 30 seconds to improve account security

We recommend enabling 2 Factor Authentication on your account, particularly for Community Admins and Owners as they tend to be at higher risk of hacking attempts.

## How to Enable 2-Factor Authentication

1. Head to the Portal
2. Select "Preferences" from the Nav Bar
3. Underneath "Your Discord ID" select "Enable 2 Factor Auth"
4. Once loaded you'll be prompted with a box where you need to scan a QR code using your Authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or another third-party application.
5. Once the QR code is scanned it will add a 6-digit code to your authenticator app. You need to enter the 6-digit code into the box and click confirm.
6. Once confirmed, you've successfully added 2 Factor Authentication to your account!

# How to Delete Patrol Configurations

1. Head to the Portal
2. Select "Preferences" from the Nav Bar
3. Underneath "Leave \[Community Name] you can view a list of all patrol configurations
4. For the one(s) you wish to delete, click the Red Trash Can icon.

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: Patrol Configurations can not be edited. They can only be created & deleted.
{% endhint %}

# Call-Takers Guide

Learn how to properly serve as a Call Taker using RocketCAD!

{% hint style="danger" %}
This page was designed for usage by roleplaying communities and should not be used in any real-world situations. In the event of a real-world emergency, please dial 911.
{% endhint %}

## Introduction

Below is a handy guide of leading questions to ask each caller when dispatching. RocketCAD is designed to support the flow of these questions (in these orders). All information you collect from these questions can be entered directly into the call details window and will be shared with responding units automatically when they're attached.

{% hint style="info" %}
We recommend all communities use the new "v6 Menus", as they are the most up to date and support the many functions of a call taker. This guide was written with v6 in mind.
{% endhint %}

## Law Enforcement / Public Assist Calls

When taking a standard law enforcement call, it's important that you know whether the call is in progress or not. The following questions are ordered from most to least important, however all 6 should be collected from every caller in one way or another.

1. **What is the location of the emergency?**
   1. *This is the most important piece of any call, as it allows you to send help in time crunches or where callers can't speak for too long*
2. **What is the emergency/reason for call?**
3. **Is/are the suspect(s) still on scene?**
4. **Are there/were there any weapons involved?**
5. **Can you describe the suspect(s)?**
   1. *Race, Clothing, and Bodily Markings (Tattoos, birthmarks) are a great place to start*
6. **Can you describe their vehicle(s)?**
   1. *Color, make and model are a great place to start*
7. **Would you like to leave a name and number?**
   1. *You can enter in the Reporting Parties information directly into the call for responding units to use*
8. **(If applicable) Would you like to speak with officers?**

*As you're taking the call, the dispatcher is receiving all the information and real-time and can begin to dispatch the call for service whilst you gather more information. All responding units will be notified when their call is modified, ensuring they're staying up to date with rapidly changing situations.*

*After you have asked the caller the appropriate questions, you may need to provide them with tips on how to proceed and stay on the line with them until help arrives. Use your best judgement to provide them with the appropriate information to keep them safe until help arrives.*

### Scenario Specific Questions

Some situations may require additional questions to be asked to ensure that responding units have all the proper details for when they arrive on scene. Below are a few examples.

* In the event the caller is potentially in imminent danger
  * Are you safe and out of danger?
  * Are you able to hide and lock the door?
* In the event the caller is injured or with an injured party
  * Is the patient conscious and breathing?
  * Nature of patient's injuries?
  * How old is the patient?
  * For more, jump to [Medical Department Calls](/rocketcad-useful-info/call-takers-guide#medical-department-calls)
* General Investigative Questions
  * How many shots did you hear?
  * How many people are involved?
  * Has anyone been drinking?

## Fire Department Calls

The most common occurrence for Fire Departments is a fire of some type. In this case, it's important we collect exposure information to ensure that the fire is not actively spreading and the appropriate units are dispatched.

1. **What is the location of the emergency?**
   1. *This is the most important piece of any call, as it allows you to send help in time crunches or where callers can't speak for too long*
2. **What is the emergency/reason for call?**
3. **Are there any injuries?**
4. **Is everyone safe and out of danger?**
   1. *If a fire is actively spreading, make sure that nearby homes and areas are evacuated*
5. **(If applicable) What type of building is involved?**
   1. *For example, Small Home, Large Home, High Rise, Commercial Structure, etc.*
6. **Would you like to leave a name and number?**
   1. *You can enter in the Reporting Parties information directly into the call for responding units to use*

*As you're taking the call, the dispatcher is receiving all the information and real-time and can begin to dispatch the call for service whilst you gather more information. All responding units will be notified when their call is modified, ensuring they're staying up to date with rapidly changing situations.*

## Medical Department Calls

Medical Calls the one of the most common calls handled in a call-taker's shift. While many are relatively minor cases for technicians to handle, it's important you collect as much information as possible to ensure that the responding units are able to treat the patient appropriately.

1. **What is the location of the emergency?**
   1. *This is the most important piece of any call, as it allows you to send help in time crunches or where callers can't speak for too long*
2. **What is the emergency/reason for call?**
3. **Is the patient conscious and breathing?**
4. **What is the nature of the patient's injuries?**
5. **How old is the patient?**
6. **Does the patient have any prior medical history?**
   1. While the caller may not know this information, if you collect the name of the patient, you can search up all prior patient care reports from the person database!
7. **Would you like to leave a name and number?**
   1. *You can enter in the Reporting Parties information directly into the call for responding units to use*

# Introduction to the API

Welcome to the updated RocketCAD API. Let's learn more about how to integrate your scripts with RocketCAD!

RocketCAD is built with Bubble and as such relies on the robust Bubble API which is organized around REST. Our API has predictable resource-oriented URLs, accepts form-encoded request bodies, returns JSON-encoded responses, and uses standard HTTP response codes, authentication, and verbs.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Base API URL" %}

```
https://api.therocketcad.com
```

{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

To authenticate requests, The RocketCAD API relies on an API Key issued to each community’s server which then runs the request in the context of that community or server. For your convenience, a working test API Key has been provided in all code examples allowing you to test right away.

Our API documentation has been written to provide complete understanding of the RocketCAD API and as such, we offer limited support of custom-made API integrations and commonly refer users back to this documentation.

{% hint style="info" %}
The RocketCAD API is intended for developer use only, Community Owners are encouraged to use our pre-made game integrations scripts from [here](https://therocketcad.com/integrate).

# Authentication

Let's learn more about authenticating with the RocketCAD API.

The RocketCAD API relies on API Keys to authenticate requests. API Keys can be created and customized from your [Owner Panel > Integration](https://therocketcad.com/amc) menu.

Your API Keys may carry many permissions, be sure to keep them secure. Do not publicly share your API Key or reveal it in Github, client-side code, etc.

The standard RocketCAD API authentication will appear like the following example:

## Standard RocketCAD API Authentication Example

<mark style="color:green;">`POST`</mark> `https://api.therocketcad.com/api/1.1/wf/ping?api_key=DEVELOPER_TESTING`

In this example, you are only required to supply a valid API Key, such as the example above.

#### Query Parameters

| Name     | Type   | Description                                                                                                                |
| -------- | ------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| api\_key | string | The API Key query parameter is required for all requests. API Keys can be generated from the Owner Panel > API Access tab. |

        "requestID": "OLV213JN6XL1BLS"
    }
}
```
{% endtab %}
{% tab title="400 In the event you fail to provide an API Key as a Query Parameter, you will likely receive a 400: Bad Request error." %}
# Errors
Let's learn more about the RocketCAD API Errors & Error Codes you may encounter when building.
The RocketCAD API takes advantage of conventional HTTP response codes to indicate the success or failure of an API request in addition to our built-in error codes to assist you in building your integration.
In general: Codes in the 2XX range indicate success whereas codes in the 4XX range indicate failure in the information provided (ie; a missing API Key or other required body parameter). Failures in the 5XX range indicate a server-side failure with RocketCAD, and are rare.
{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Example: 200" %}
```
{
    "status": "success",
    "response": {
        "success": true,
        "message": "This API Key is valid & associated with an active community."
        "requestID": "OLV213JN6XL1BLS"
    }
}
```
This is an example response from the Ping API Endpoint.
{% endtab %}
{% tab title="Example: 400" %}
```
{
    "statusCode": 400,
    "body": {
        "status": "MISSING_DATA",
        "message": "Missing parameter for workflow ping: parameter api_key"
    }
}
```
This is an example response from the Ping API Endpoint.
{% endtab %}
{% tab title="Example: 404" %}
```
{
    "statusCode": 404,
    "body": {
        "status": "NOT_FOUND",
        "message": "Workflow not found ping"
    }
}
```
This is an example response from the Ping API Endpoint.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}
## Common RocketCAD Errors
In addition to conventional HTTP response codes, RocketCAD has a built-in error code system designed to assist you in troubleshooting.
In general: Codes in the 1XX range will indicate an API Key issue (ie; missing permissions, invalid key) and codes in the 2XX range will indicate a Rate Limiting issue (ie; you've been rate limited, are approaching a rate limit)
{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Example: 1A" %}
```
{
    "status": "success",
    "response": {
        "success": false,
        "message": "The provided API Key is not valid or lacks permissions. modcol.co/e1a",
        "requestID": "3KUXZ1KUNUDJN7S"
    }
}
```
This is an example response from the Ping API Endpoint
{% endtab %}
{% tab title="Example 2A" %}
```
{
    "status": "success",
    "response": {
        "success": false,
        "message": "This API Key has been rate limited, please try your request again in a moment. modcol.co/e2a",
        "requestID": "IU7DRSTYVNLLA2V"
    }
}
```
This is an example response from the Ping API Endpoint
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}
To better troubleshoot an individual error, see the endpoint's documentation.
# Troubleshooting API Errors
{% hint style="info" %}
Prior to contacting support, we encourage you to use these troubleshooting resources
{% endhint %}
## Error Code: 1A - Invalid API Key
### What causes this error?
This error code is typically displayed when you do not supply a valid API Key. An API Key is considered valid when it meets two conditions. 1) It has been registered from the Owner Panel > API Access tab. 2) It contains the proper permissions to execute the endpoint you're attempting to run.
### How to resolve this error?
First, head to the [Owner Panel > API Access](https://therocketcad.com/amc) tab. Once there, check to make sure that the API Key you are using is present (Remember: You can not see the key, but should have taken note of the nickname)
If the API Key does exist and is associated with the correct community, click on the Pencil Icon.
Once in the editing tab, ensure you have assigned the correct permissions to this API Key. For example, if you are attempting to run the [911](/developers/new-endpoints/911-call) endpoint, you must have "Send 911s" enabled.
If you have confirmed the API Key does both exist & possesses the proper permissions, please [Contact Support](https://therocketcad.com/support). Be sure to include the [RequestID(s)](/developers/requestids) from your troubleshooting.
## Error Code: 2A - Rate Limiting
### What causes this error?
This error code is typically displayed when you have been rate limited by the RocketCAD API. This is typically either caused by a bug in your integration, causing too many requests to be sent to the system or your community exceeds the limits of our standard API system.
### How to resolve this error?
Wait a moment and try your request again.
If you are being consistently rate limited, especially during peak times for your community, review your integration code for any bugs that may be causing inadvertent spamming.
If you are confident there is no bug within your integration, are using the pre-made RocketCAD integration, or are a large community, please [Contact Support](https://therocketcad.com/support). For this issue in particular, a RequestID is not necessary.
# RequestIDs
Let's learn more about the RocketCAD API RequestID system and how it may help you in troubleshooting.
Each API request is automatically assigned a request identifier. You can find this value in the response body, with the title “requestID”.
```
{
    "status": "success",
    "response": {
        "success": true,
        "message": "This API Key is valid & associated with an active community."
        "requestID": "OLV213JN6XL1BLS"
    }
}
```
Soon, you will be able to debug your API using Request IDs. Check back here for more information on this.
{% hint style="warning" %}
In the event you contact our Support Team with an API-related error, providing the request identifier will ensure the fastest possible resolution.
