Getting Started as an Owner

You've purchased a new RocketCAD Community and are ready to get started!

It may take up to 5 minutes for your community to be created after purchase.

Getting into the Owner Panel

The Owner Panel is going to be your primary hub for all community management. Here, you will manage your users, settings, departments and everything you need for your community! Let's find out how to access the Owner Panel.

  1. Select Your Community

    1. Note: At this point, it's likely just a random string of letters and numbers, but go ahead and click on it anyways!

  2. Select "Community Manager"

  3. You're now in the Owner Panel!

The functions of the Owner Panel are fairly self explanatory. You can navigate through the menus using the sidebar on the left. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND going through each menu option to ensure that every setting you wish to configure is properly configured before beginning to take in members to your community.

Accepting Members

Once your community has been setup, and you have gone through all settings and configured them as you wish it's now time to accept members.

Method #1: "Classic" Invite

  1. Encourage your users to either make an account or login to their account from https://therocketcad.com/auth

My member is making a new account

  1. Once they click "Signup" and enter in all their details, they will be prompted to join a community

  2. Have them search the name of your community (which is customizable from Owner Panel > Customization)

  3. Have them click "Join Community"

  4. Depending on your verification level, your members will either be instantly allowed or queued pending approval in the "Approval Queue" area of your Owner Panel.

My member already has an account

  1. Your member should be automatically directed to the Portal

  2. From the "Home" tab, underneath their name should be a text area titled "Switch Community", click this

  3. Once the menu has opened, click "Join New Community" at the bottom

  4. Have them search the name of your community (which is customizable from Owner Panel > Customization)

  5. Have them click "Join Community"

  6. Depending on your verification level, your members will either be instantly allowed or queued pending approval in the "Approval Queue" area of your Owner Panel.

Method #2: Linked Invite

  1. Head into your Owner Panel and from the top right click "Invite Members"

  2. This will reveal your unique URL, copy this and distribute to your members!

    1. If you are eligible for a custom URL (Unlimited Community), the URL will be generated based off of your Community Abbreviation which is set from Owner Panel > Customization

My member doesn't have an account

  1. Upon clicking the link, your member will be prompted to create a new account

  2. Your member will then be put into your community

  3. Depending on your verification level, your members will either be instantly allowed or queued pending approval in the "Approval Queue" area of your Owner Panel.

My member has an account

  1. Your member should be automatically directed to the Portal & put into your community!

  2. Depending on your verification level, your members will either be instantly allowed or queued pending approval in the "Approval Queue" area of your Owner Panel.
